I’m Darien — founder of Knockout Portraits. I’ve spent over 12 years as a professional photographer and videographer, earning over 30 international awards and features in publications like INSIDER, FEARLESS Photographers, and SLR Lounge. But what sets Knockout Portraits apart isn’t the awards — it’s that I built this business from inside the martial arts community, not outside of it.
I’m an active Muay Thai practitioner. I train, I compete, and I understand the culture of the gym from the inside. That means when I show up to your academy, I’m not learning your world for the first time — I already live in it.
How We Got Here
Before Knockout Portraits, I built a career in high-pressure photography — from motorsports to weddings — where precision, timing, and storytelling under pressure were everything. That foundation earned me international recognition and taught me how to deliver consistently at the highest level, no matter the environment.
When I started training Muay Thai, something clicked. The discipline, the culture, the intensity — it was a world I wanted to be part of, not just document. I brought my camera into the gym, and the two worlds fused. I wasn’t just a photographer shooting fights — I was a training partner who happened to be world-class behind the lens.
I built KP specifically to serve martial arts academies. Not as a generalist photographer who “also does sports,” but as a dedicated content partner who understands what gym owners need — professional imagery and video that attracts students, builds trust with parents, and elevates your brand in your market.
